The mansion was absolutely stunning. George Vanderbilt was a man who relished the past as he recognized the technological advancements of the modern world. The home is a mixture of old world beauty with the ingenuity of the modern world of that time.
As one who enjoys history and the power of photography to capture our world as it happens, I so enjoyed all of the photos taken by Mrs. Edith Vanderbilt. You can't beat black and white turn-of-the-century photography.
The Biltmore Mansion will be on my list for a return visit. I hear it is beautiful during the Christmas holidays.
I expect if this world can create beauty like this with natural hands that the beauty of My Father's house will be exponentially more so.
"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know." John 14:1-4, KJV
