Within the asking of what MORE the Lord asks of me, comes the next question - Where do I spend most of my time - on the urgent things or the important things? The urgent things are those that press in daily, call for my time, call for my energy, call for my thoughts, my conversation and my resources. But are those urgent things really the important things that I should be spending the precious time the Lord has given to me on this earth? What are those important things to me?
What is my MORE and what are the important things that I need to carve out time for daily?
As my heart and my mind continues to seek out what the MORE is for my life, I find myself praying more - more for the needs of others, more for the souls of those lost, more for our nation and Christians suffering around the world. Is this my MORE? Yes, I believe it is. I also believe that there is even MORE that the Lord asks of me.
I have found in the urgent press of circumstances in my job, in my community, and in the heartache and pain of others, that too often my soul becomes "disquieted within me." But yet again, I have been learning that my strength, my joy, my peace, my hope, my vision - comes from one source - Jesus Christ. He is my MORE. He is my important thing. When my eyes rest on Him alone, when my heart yearns for Him alone, when the words of my mouth praise Him alone, when the actions of my life glorify Him alone - I have found my More. I have found my important thing.
In Him alone do I find health, peace, joy, love, strength, comfort, rest, and protection.
